## Introduction
ScoreBoard (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our HAC grade tracking application.
## Information We Collect
### 1. Login Credentials (Stored Locally Only)
- HAC Username and Password: Stored securely on your device using iOS/Android secure storage
- Never transmitted to our servers
- Never shared with third parties
- Only used to authenticate with your school’s HAC system
- Deleted when you logout or uninstall the app
### 2. Anonymous Grade Sharing (Optional)
When you opt-in to Grade Sharing, we collect:
What We Collect:
- Course code (e.g., “0708400”)
- Class name (e.g., “AP Spanish Language & Culture”)
- Your grade percentage (e.g., 84%)
- Anonymous device fingerprint (cannot identify you personally)
- School code (hashed identifier)
What We DON’T Collect:
- Your name
- Student ID number
- HAC username or password
- Individual assignment scores
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
How It Works:
- Grades uploaded once per 24 hours when enabled
- Used to calculate anonymous class averages
- Stored in our secure database (Supabase)
- Class averages shown only when 10+ students participate
- You can toggle sharing on/off at any time
- Your data is immediately deleted when you disable sharing
## How We Use Your Information
### Login Credentials
- Used solely to authenticate with your school’s HAC system
- Processed entirely on your device
- Never leave your device
### Grade Data (If Sharing Enabled)
- Calculate anonymous class averages
- Display comparative statistics (e.g., “5% above class average”)
- Improve understanding of class performance trends
## Data Storage and Security
- Login credentials: Stored locally on your device using iOS Keychain / Android Keystore
- Grade data: Stored in encrypted database with industry-standard security
- Anonymous IDs: Cannot be traced back to individual students
- No tracking: We don’t track your app usage, location, or behavior
## Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Opt-in or opt-out of grade sharing at any time
- Delete your shared data by disabling grade sharing
- Request information about what data we store
- Uninstall the app and all local data will be removed
## Data Retention
- Login credentials: Stored until you logout or uninstall
- Grade data: Retained while sharing is enabled; deleted immediately when disabled
- Class averages: Recalculated daily; old submissions overwritten
## Third-Party Services
We use:
- Supabase (database hosting) - for anonymous grade data only
- Home Access Center (HAC) - your school’s official grade system (we don’t control their privacy practices)
We do NOT use:
- Analytics or tracking services
- Advertising networks
- Social media integrations
- Any service that collects personal information
## Children’s Privacy
ScoreBoard is designed for students. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone. Grade sharing is:
- Completely optional (opt-in)
- Anonymous (no personal data)
- Protected (minimum 10 students for averages)
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the “Effective Date” at the top
- Displaying a notice in the app
- Requiring re-acceptance for material changes
